Dzmitry Rachkovsky
Actor
Dzmitry Rachkovsky is a recognized master of the stage whose creative career is marked by the highest theatrical award in Belarus and successful integration into the European cultural context. The foundation of his professional skill was laid during his studies at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts in the class of the outstanding teacher and master of the word Andrei Koliada (class of 1994). It was this school that formed the basis of his artistic method — a rare synthesis of deep psychologism, flawless stage speech, and masterful eccentricity.
Dzmitry has progressed from the leading companies in Minsk — the National Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gorky and the Youth Theater — to the heights of puppet art. His work at the Belarusian State Puppet Theater became a milestone for the entire theatrical environment. The role of Gervasiy Vylivakha in the play "The Boat of Despair" (based on the novella by Vladimir Korotkevich) brought Dzmitry not only the love of the audience but also the National Theater Award for Best Actor. His interpretation of the character, a lover of life who challenges Death, is recognized as a model of acting transformation and philosophical depth.
Today, Dzmitry Rachkovsky is actively developing his career in Lithuania, collaborating with several independent theater projects. Local audiences already know him from a number of notable Vilnius productions: from the kind fairy tale for children "Yana's Adventures in the Fairytale Forest" to the mystical fairy tale for adults "The Devil's Daughter," which is deeply rooted in folk folklore, and the nostalgic comedy "Come to My Place."
As part of the Baltas Teatras company, Dzmitry brings a phenomenal sense of rhythm and a gift for improvisation to every production. In the new premiere "Everything is Upside Down," created by the Baltas Teatras collective, his acting plasticity and ability to exist on the edge of farce and high comedy become one of the main driving forces of the play. Dzmitry is also known to a wide audience as a charismatic TV presenter and film actor (over 60 roles, including the projects "Voskresensky," "Death to Spi...").
